First, let me tell you our WALK team passed $61,000 raised at this year's WALK. Again, congratulations for a job so well done!

SOUTH COOK MS SELF-HELP GROUP 2009 -
I cannot express to you in a short update how immensely proud and thankful I am about the magnificent effort of
our WALK 2009 TEAM.
We are currently at $48,465, with more confirmed monies coming in to be counted.
Congratulations to Dana Rains who has just received $2,000 from the Fifth Third Bank of Orland Park
which come in from Dana's Ice Cream Social and Sing-A-Long. Plus Bob and Carol Koch now retired group
members in Arizona who loyally collect for our team and they will be sending in a generous donation,
plus our No. 1 fundraiser last year, Georgene Karlow is still collecting WALK donations and will be
sending her monies to our team.
Both the Koch's and Georgene's pledges have not yet been added to our
total and top fundraisers' list. WOW, what a WALK year, challenging, but immensely rewarding in our
continuing struggle to end MS.
I know many of you have outstanding pledges and donations still to be counted.
The prize deadline is June 30 to submit your WALK funds. Our goal for WALK 2009 is still $60,000.
We are well within striking distance of that lofty goal. Therefore, I am asking one more time this year
if we can all pull together and each find that one extra donation to put us at or over our $60,000 goal.
What an achievement for us! I think we will be talking about it for years if we can pull it off in this
very difficult year.
To date, our super team, the South Cook MS Self-Help Group, the team of thoroughbreds,
warriors against MS and champions, has raised $48,465.82. Here are our top champions

Finally, I would be terribly remiss not to mention all of our wonderful volunteers at the WALK in May.
Our wonderful gourment hot dog team, Caroline Huerta, Liza Heinzel and her wonderful sister;
our registration whizzes, Arline Blazek, and Tom and Sue Borse and Michele Gabrione, and
our crack team members crew, George Treiguts, Steve and Pat Duray, Ken and Jan Mauge,
Roberto Demaria and Joan Wiers, and our volunteer recruiters, Amy Litviak and Jeremy Bembenek.
Everywhere I went I saw smiles and folks telling me what a great time was had WALK day.
