My mother was recently diagnosed with MS, and I was wondering if I will get MS.
MS is probably caused by many genes acting together. There is an increased risk that you will get MS. Your chances go from 1 in a 1000 to 1 in 100 if a close family member has MS. NOTE: This is still a low risk. If your parents had high blood pressure, heart attacks, diabetes.... the risk that you would develop one of these would be much more than 1 in 100.
