Founded in 1984, The Heuga Center is dedicated to providing medical, educational and
research programs for people living with multiple sclerosis. All programs are based
on the premise that having a chronic disease does not preclude leading a healthy,
active, fulfilling life.
Since its inception, The Heuga Center has been providing medical/wellness programs
for people with MS and their families. These programs are designed to supplement
a person’s ongoing health care as well as educate and empower individuals when
dealing with a myriad of options for dealing with MS. In the past 17 years The
Heuga Center has spent $18 million in direct services to the more than 6,000
people who have attended one of The Heuga Center’s medical wellness programs.
The Heuga Center has also funded over $1 million in research into the benefits
of exercise for people with multiple sclerosis.
Currently, The Heuga Center has 10 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
In addition, over 100 medical professionals from all over the country
volunteer their services as part of The Heuga Center’s medical program staff.
